Abram went forth as the LORD had commanded him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.
Why did Avraham take Lot along with him?
One of the reasons that Avraham took Lot along with him was because he had a prophecy that King David’s dynasty would come from him.

Why did people want to do business with Avraham?
Not only was Avraham successful in all his businesses dealings, but anyone who would buy from, or sell to Avraham, would be successful too. People caught in a storm at sea would invoke Avraham’s merit and be saved. Sterile women who couldn’t previously conceive would have children in Avraham’s merit.
